Overview Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District (NBMLHD) is seeking a skilled and patient-focused Nuclear Medicine Technologist to deliver high-quality Nuclear Medicine and PET services in line with professional standards and district policies.
This role involves performing diagnostic examinations, maintaining equipment through reliable quality control procedures, and managing administrative tasks related to General Nuclear Medicine and PET modalities.
This position plays a vital role in delivering compassionate, accurate, and safe diagnostic services, strengthening the connection between NBMLHD's imaging services and the communities we serve.Location: Nepean HospitalEmployment Type: Permanent Full TimePosition Classification: Nuclear Medicine Technologist Level 2Hours Per Week: 38Remuneration: $76,045.05 - $104,754.22 per annumApplications Close: 24/09/2025 About Us NBMLHD is a recognised leader in the healthcare industry, providing a range of public health services to the Nepean, Blue Mountains, and Lithgow Region.

Responsibilities (summary) Deliver high-quality Nuclear Medicine and PET imaging services in accordance with professional standards and district policies.
Perform diagnostic examinations, ensure equipment quality control, and handle related administrative tasks for General Nuclear Medicine and PET modalities.
Provide compassionate, accurate, and safe diagnostic services to patients.
What you will bring to the role Diploma or Degree of Applied Science (Medical Radiation Technology) Nuclear Medicine or equivalent qualifications recognised by the Australian and New Zealand Society of Nuclear Medicine (ANZSNM).
Current Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (APHRA) registration in Nuclear Medicine Practice.Possess or be eligible for NSW EPA radioactive substance licence S14; IA16 for CT radiation apparatus in nuclear medicine; IA16D for diagnostic radiography and nuclear medicine; IA27 for radiation apparatus (DEXA).
Good understanding of practical skills in Nuclear Medicine procedures; strong problem solving and decision making abilities.Effective verbal and written communication skills with excellent patient care; strong interpersonal and time management skills; ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.Clinical experience across a wide range of Nuclear Medicine & PET procedures and equipment.Commitment to personal and professional development with sound knowledge of radiation safety and quality control/improvement.Employment of a temporary visa holder may occur only if no suitable permanent resident or citizen of Australia has been identified and must not exceed the visa duration or conditions.
