About the role
12‐month fixed‐term position with the Safety, Health and Hygiene team at Caval Ridge Mine operations.
* Provide technical expertise in injury prevention, injury management, fitness for work, rehabilitation and return to work processes, including the development of suitable duties plans and associated documents
* Provide support for regulatory health surveillance (legislative medical and pre‐employment medical) activities and reporting
* Support the Hygiene specialist with hygiene projects and programs, e.g., dust, noise, vibration, other hazardous agents including exceedance investigations, hearing and respiratory fit testing
* Complete behavioural‐based Field Leadership observations, offering support and technical guidance to positively influence our culture of care
* Maintain health enterprise systems (e.g., Cority), medicals and data integrity
* Support site medical service e.g. paramedics/nurses, EAP, physiotherapy, appointed medical advisers and occupational physician
About You
* Bachelor's degree in a health‐related or science discipline with APHRA or ESSA or similarly related registration, e.g., OHS, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, registered nurse, psychology, human movements, ergonomics, human factors
* Ideally have experience working in a large complex environment within mining or heavy industry
* Intermediate skills in MS Office suite
* Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the capability to effectively engage varied levels of stakeholders both internally and externally
* Working knowledge of Queensland workers' compensation process
* Knowledge of QLD coal mining health and safety legislation
* Personal resilience to act as the key point of contact for site health and hygiene matters in a fast‐paced environment
