As the steward for digitally enabling Australia's health system, the Agency plays a key role in coordinating national engagement, delivery, and adoption of digital health to facilitate person-centred, connected healthcare. Our responsibilities span national digital health services and systems, including My Health Record, Electronic Prescriptions, and the 1800Medicare App.

About the Role

The Research, Analytics and Data (RAD) Branch is seeking a Director, Data Strategy and Governance (EL2) for a full‐time ongoing position. Reporting to the Chief Data and Analytics Officer (CDAO), this role supports the CDAO and leads a geographically dispersed team responsible for developing and managing the Agency's data policy, data strategy and data governance framework, aligned to the Agency's work program. The role also oversees the delivery of the Agency's scope of the My Health Record Research and Public Health Program.

Skills and Experience

* Demonstrated leadership in reform and change programs, including the design, implementation and embedding of policy, strategy and governance frameworks within multi‐stakeholder, government environments.
* Extensive experience developing and delivering enterprise‐wide data strategies, including leading data maturity and data literacy uplift initiatives and driving organisational change.
* Demonstrated experience leading teams in a government setting, including geographically dispersed teams, with a focus on capability building and performance.
* Strong knowledge of best practice in data strategy, policy and governance, including managing data‐related risk to ensure data is trusted, secure and appropriately accessible.
* Sound experience in programme and project delivery, with a strong understanding of contemporary project management frameworks and methodologies.
* Highly developed verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to provide advice, solve complex problems and effectively engage senior leaders and stakeholders.

Australian citizenship is mandatory. Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a national police clearance and the required Negative Vetting 1 security clearance, with the ability to attain a higher‐level clearance if needed.

Notes

Order of Merit: Applicants rated as suitable will be placed in a merit pool that may be used to fill similar ongoing or non‐ongoing positions throughout the Agency for up to 18 months.
