About Our School St Eugene College is a Catholic co‑educational Prep‑12 school located in Burpengary, with an enrolment of over 1,500 students and a staff of approximately 150. We are a dynamic learning community for both our staff and students. We are seeking an enthusiastic and innovative Teacher Librarian to join our vibrant school community. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate educator to foster a love of reading, digital literacy, and lifelong learning in students from Prep to Year 12.

* Location: St Eugene College, Burpengary
* Start date: Commencing January 2026
* Work hours: 30 hours/week
* Salary: $86,601 – $124,725 + super (commensurate with experience)
* Status: Full Time Continuing

About The Opportunity

The Teacher Librarian position plays an integral role in our education team, where you will foster a love of literature, support student learning, and contribute to a vibrant and engaging library environment for our students across Prep to Year 12.

In This Position You Will Be Responsible For

* Creating a nurturing and ordered learning environment that is learner‑centred, supportive, cooperative, and aligned with relevant curriculum policies, documents and practices.
* Collaboratively developing and implementing quality curriculum programs and appropriate pedagogy; evaluating their effectiveness; assessing and reporting student progress and learning outcomes; and reporting these to students, parents and the community.
* Working collaboratively with the leadership team, teachers and other staff members in contributing to the professional life of the school and fostering a positive school culture.
* Proactively engaging with professional learning to enhance student learning outcomes.
* Developing and implementing engaging library programs for P‑12 students, supporting the curriculum and promoting literacy.
* Collaborating with teaching staff to integrate information literacy and research skills into classroom learning.
* Managing the library collection, including selection, cataloguing and maintenance of physical and digital resources.
* Encouraging student engagement through reading challenges, book clubs, and library events.
* Supporting students and staff in using digital technologies and information resources effectively and safely.
* Championing a welcoming and inclusive library environment for the entire school community.


About You

To be successful in this position you will bring relevant contemporary skills and experience including:

* Creating a supportive, learner‑focused classroom aligned with the Australian Curriculum.
* Expertise in designing and delivering effective curriculum programs in line with the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers.
* Commitment to engage with colleagues, students and parents/carers to enrich learning experiences and achieve the best educational outcomes.
* A passion to support students' spiritual and moral development.
* Strong knowledge of children's and young adult literature, as well as digital information tools.
* Experience or demonstrated interest in working across a P‑12 context.
* Excellent communication, collaboration and organisational skills.
* Commitment to fostering a safe, inclusive and positive learning environment.
* For this position you are not required to be Catholic.


Eligibility and Safeguarding Requirements

* Eligibility to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment.
* Current registration with Queensland College of Teachers.
* Qualifications in Teacher Librarianship, or a demonstrated willingness to undertake further study in this area.
