Core Responsibilities – Legal Accounting & Finance Managing trust account receipting and payments Performing daily and monthly trust account reconciliations Billing and invoice processing, including oversight of debtor balances Conducting bank reconciliations across trust and office accounts Monitoring and ensuring compliance with legal profession trust accounting requirements Preparing for and assisting with trust account audits (including QLS requirements) Liaising with external accountants and auditors as required Preparing financial reports, including income statements and month-end reporting Managing general accounts administration, including BAS preparation and reconciliation Overseeing payroll processing, including PAYG obligations Supporting end-of-year financial procedures and reporting Utilising practice management software (including Smokeball) for trust and office accounting Assisting with Professional Indemnity Insurance renewals (experience advantageous) About You Previous experience in legal accounting role within a law firm Strong knowledge of trust accounting requirements High level of accuracy and attention to detail Strong organisational and time management skills Proficiency in legal practice management software Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented mindset Highly Regarded Experience using Xero and/or Smokeball (or similar practice management systems), Employment Hero Relevant bookkeeping or accounting qualifications How to Apply If this opportunity sounds like the right fit for you, please send your CV and a brief cover letter to holly@dsllaw.com.au
