The role
Senior Occupational Therapist
We are seeking an AHPRA registered senior Occupational Therapist to join our growing team of medical professionals. You will work with patients recovering from injuries and disability to help them regain abilities so they can resume work. Duties include managing the team, conducting physical assessment of clients, developing treatment plans, assessing work and home environments of clients, and developing physical rehabilitation programmes.
Job Responsibilities
- Conduct physical and psychological assessments of clients and develop or follow a treatment plan.
- Assess home and work environments of clients and determine needed adjustments.
- Advise on adaptive equipment to help clients with daily activities.
- Develop physical rehabilitation programmes to help clients regain lost skills.
- Prepare clients for a return to work.
- Educate caregivers and family members of clients on patient care.
- Evaluate results and progress of occupational therapy on clients.
- Maintain professional knowledge and technical progress to provide clients with the best treatment program available.
- Comply with federal, state, and local certification requirements.
- Evaluate patient condition regarding physical and basic mental health.
Skills and Qualifications
- A bachelor or master's degree in occupational therapy from an Australian university.
- Certificate of registration by AHPRA.
- Compliance with state healthcare regulatory requirements.
- Up‐to‐date knowledge of treatment practices and physical therapy programmes.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to care for clients with different personalities.
- Comfortable using a computer for various tasks.
- Ability to assess patient condition and work with treatment plans.
