Based out of our Bacchus Marsh quarry, we have exciting opportunities available for plant and loader operators to join our high performing and committed team to work our afternoon and night shift. As the newest member of our team, you will be responsible for undertaking operational duties in a safe and responsible manner. You will also operate and maintain machinery, monitor production metrics, and troubleshoot any issues that arise.
This role involves shift work commencing at 4:00 PM and will be compensated with a loading penalty.
What you will do
- Safe operation of front-end loader and other quarry mobile plant as required (Watercart and/or Dump Truck)
- Safe operation of fixed wash plant
- Learning to find mechanical faults and conduct basic maintenance and plant housekeeping
- Active participation in problem solving and continuous improvement activities
- Participation in safety initiatives including pre-starts, toolbox talks and incident reporting
- Managing daily administration, including stock control and reporting when required
- Inspecting and maintaining plant equipment and trucks
- General housekeeping and maintaining a safe work environment
What we are looking for
- A strong safety focus and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Sound computer skills for batching, reporting, and stock management
- Proven experience operating machinery such as loaders, excavators and dump trucks
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Self-motivated with a strong commitment to safety and quality
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team with minimal supervision
- Flexibility to work shift work
