Minimum qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent practical experience.
2. 2 years of experience in finance, working with cross-functional initiatives.
3. Professional qualification in CIMA/ACA/ACCA/CPA or equivalent.
Preferred qualifications:
1. 5 years of experience in a financial reporting/operational accounting role with focus on processes and controls.
2. Experience with Google Sheets, SQL, and ERP systems such as SAP.
3. Understanding of accounting principles, including US GAAP, IFRS, and related international standards.
4. Knowledge of accounting principles.
5. Ability to collaborate effectively and communicate well with cross-functional and international teams.
6. Ability to assist with well-defined tasks within a project, manage time, and follow work plans.
About The Job
Google accountants handle core accounting responsibilities, applying their knowledge of accounting principles and processes end to end. They advise on financial reports required by regulations, review, analyze, and interpret financial and budgetary reports. The role involves continuous improvement, collaboration with global teams, advocating best practices, and supporting business objectives with attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
The Google Finance team provides in-depth analysis on strategic decisions across Google products, from developing analysis to automating financial processes. As part of this team, you'll contribute to managing financial risks, supporting audits, and using data to monitor business performance.
Responsibilities
1. Identify and mitigate financial risks associated with new changes to processes.
2. Provide financial records and documentation to auditors, and assist with process documentation and procedural reviews.
3. Use data to extract insights and monitor performance across business areas.
