Catering Assistant page is loaded## Catering Assistantlocations: Burwood, New South Walestime type: Part timeposted on: Posted Todaytime left to apply: End Date: February 14, 2026 (16 days left to apply)job requisition id: JR-14791**Your role at St John of God Burwood**We are seeking applications for a **Catering Assistant** to join our Burwood Catering team on a casual basis.Working as a Catering Assistant you will be primarily responsible for assisting the Chefs in the day to day running of the kitchen, preparing and serving food to patients, visitors and caregivers, and general cleaning & ordering of food/stick on a weekly basis.Applicants must be available to work **am & pm** shifts from **Monday to Sunday**.**The Position*** To help prepare food and serve meals for patients, visitors and staff.* Maintains work practice according to hospital policies, procedures and standards.* Participates in Departmental Quality Assurance and Continuous Quality Improvement projects* Demonstrates safe food practices as per HACCP guidelines.* Demonstrates ability to prioritise situations as they occur in the course of the shift.* Manages own workload and complete agreed upon duty statement for that area/section by the completion of each shift.You will have an understanding of the NSW Health & Food Safety requirements, experience in food preparation and excellent communication & customer service skills.Successful applicants will have experience working with Cold Larders, salads and preparing sandwiches.
