Sexual Health Nurse Role
This role involves delivering specialist nursing care and education, focusing on the prevention, management, and treatment of Blood Borne Viruses (BBVs) and sexually transmitted infections (STIs).
Main Responsibilities
* Providing culturally safe and high-quality care to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community.
* Developing and implementing sexual health education and prevention campaigns for youth and school-based programs.
* Fostering strong relationships with patients, families, and community members through culturally appropriate communication.
* Collaborating with healthcare teams to address physical, social, emotional, and cultural needs of patients.
Skills and Qualifications
* A Registered Nurse with AHPRA and a minimum of 5 years' clinical experience.
* An Accredited Nurse Immuniser.
* Demonstrated knowledge and skills in creating a safe and welcoming environment for patients.
* Understanding of Aboriginal health programs and support services for STI management.
