School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Full-time (100%), fixed-term position for up to 2 years Base salary will be in the range $82,057.75 - $109,246.18 17% Superannuation (Academic Level A) Based at our St Lucia Campus About This Opportunity This is a fantastic opportunity for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to deepen their expertise and build a strong, emerging research profile within Electrical Engineering. The role also provides a unique opportunity to engage with the solar farm industry and address practical challenges faced by solar farms. In addition to research, the role offers the chance to actively contribute to service and engagement activities, fostering collaboration and impact both within and beyond the academic community. Key responsibilities will include: Research: Contribute to the AEA Innovate project by producing quality research outputs aligned with project objectives and timelines. Support the preparation of AEA project reports by collecting and analysing synthesising relevant data and research findings. Establish a research program, collaborate on research projects, seek and manage research funding, publish in discipline-specific reputable journals, utilize best practice research methodologies, and participate in project discussions. Supervision and Researcher Development: Supervise students, recruit and manage employees, provide performance feedback and training, resolve conflicts, and ensure correct remuneration and benefits. Citizenship and Service: Develop partnerships, demonstrate leadership through mentoring, engage in internal service roles and committees, perform administrative functions, provide support to colleagues, and uphold university values. About You Completion or near completion of a PhD in Electrical Engineering. Possess strong programming skills and demonstrated experience in R and Python, particularly for data analysis, modelling and visualisation tasks. Bring expertise in data analytics and AI with practical experience working with solar farm operational data including tasks such as performance assessment and predictive modelling. An emerging profile in research in the discipline area. Evidence of publications in reputed refereed journals and presenting at conferences. Evidence of contributions towards successfully obtaining external research funding. Some experience in meaningful internal service roles and contributions towards external activities The successful candidate may be required to complete a number of pre-employment checks, including: right to work in Australia, education check.
