**Join our Perinatal Liaison Service Team as a Nurse Consultant**
The Perinatal Liaison Service at Flinders Medical Centre is for women and their families affected by mental health issues during and post pregnancy (perinatal period). Perinatal and infant mental health services to families.
**About the role**:
Reporting to the Acute Nursing Director, this role provide clinical nursing expertise for clients within Perinatal Services in accordance with the National Perinatal Clinical Practice Guidelines for specific individual patients/clients and/or groups/populations, and/or provide clinical leadership for an area of practice, and may work in a variety of clinical settings.
Duties for the role will include:
- Contribute expert nursing/midwifery assessment and advice to local clinical teams to achieve integrated nursing/midwifery care within a risk management framework,
- Ensure mechanisms are in place to support ongoing education where work and learning are integrated,
- Contribute specific expertise to monitor and evaluate research activities in order to improve nursing or midwifery practice and service delivery,
- Provides advice to key stakeholders on issues relating to professional practice and workforce legislation,
- Contributing to the development of an integrated team approach and culture which is highly responsive to the needs of our consumers.
**About you**:
- Registered as a Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds a current practicing certificate. Must be enrolled in an approved mental health course or hold a qualification in mental health practice,
- Demonstrated ability to analyse problems, devise and implement creative & effective strategies with the ability to evaluate outcomes in an effective and efficient manner,
- Registered Nurse/Midwife with at least 3 years, full time equivalent, post registration experience,
- Demonstrated competence in Mental Health nursing practice in accordance with the relevant standards.
