Supporting Student Learning and Engagement
The role of a Teaching Assistant is to support effective student engagement in learning, provide encouragement and guidance to reach target goals.
This involves collaborating with teachers to assist in the preparation and implementation of lessons, ensuring an engaging and effective learning experience for all students.
* Assisting Teachers: Collaborate with teachers to implement lesson plans, promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.
* Student Support: Provide individualised support to students with specific learning difficulties, challenging behaviour, mental health issues and social/emotional disability.
* Classroom Organisation: Assist in maintaining a well-organised and conducive learning environment, promoting positive behaviour and student engagement.
* Communication: Establish open and effective communication with students and parents, fostering a strong partnership between the school and families.
Key Responsibilities: The successful candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, knowledge of educational principles, and demonstrate an understanding of providing care and support to students with learning needs.
Qualifications and Experience: A Certificate II in Educational Support or demonstrated classroom experience working in an educational setting with young people with disabilities.
Requirements: Passion for education, current Working with Children's Check, experience with or knowledge of BSEM model, and a commitment to making a positive impact on students' lives.
