At UnitingSA, we believe every young person deserves safety, dignity and the chance to build a positive future. As a Senior Youth Worker, you'll step into a key role within our 24/7 supported accommodation service, guiding the team to deliver high‐quality, youth‐centred support while creating a safe and empowering environment for young people. You'll play a vital role in helping them build life skills, develop independence and transition confidently into the community.
Shift work is involved as part of ensuring consistent, responsive support within the service.
This is a fixed‐term maternity cover until 20 December 2026.
What You'll Be Doing
* Building respectful, empowering relationships with young people to support their goals and wellbeing.
* Delivering client‐focused case work, including assessments, planning, advocacy and referrals.
* Supporting young people with daily living, routines and independent living skills.
* Creating a safe, stable and nurturing home environment within a residential setting.
* Working collaboratively with schools, agencies, community services and internal teams.
* Maintaining accurate case notes, reporting requirements and documentation.
* Providing leadership and support to Youth Workers and contributing to a positive team culture.
* Participating in meetings, handovers, supervision and continuous service improvement.

The Team You'll Join
You'll join a team of dedicated Youth Workers, Coordinators and Homelessness Services staff who share your passion for creating safer, brighter futures for young people.
Is This You?
We're looking for someone who is compassionate, adaptable and committed to empowering young people. You'll bring:
* A tertiary qualification in Community Services, Social Work, Youth Work or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
* Experience in youth work, case planning and supporting young people with complex needs.
* Strong understanding of trauma‐informed, strengths‐based and youth‐centred practice.
* Excellent communication, teamwork and problem‐solving skills.
* A current SA Driver's Licence, First Aid & CPR, DHS Working with Children Check, and NDIS Worker Screening (or willingness to obtain).
* Psychological Suitability to work in a Children's Residential Facility (essential, or willingness to undertake the required assessment)
