ABOUT THE POSITION
As the Tasmanian Team Leader, your role is to build Mustard’s ministry in Tasmania. This involves working alongside the Student Movement Coordinator in recruiting students to start up Lunchtime Groups in schools, supporting groups and Student Leaders via networking opportunities, mentoring and training. The role also includes pursuing local ministry partnerships and church connections, promoting and leading School Programs in local schools, as well as acquiring prayer and financial supporters.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the guidance of the CEO, the Tasmanian Team Leader will work alongside other staff to:
Grow:
* Engage with youth and adults at external events, including youth events, camps and conferences with the aim of promoting the work of Mustard.
* Assist with recruitment, training and resourcing of Student Leaders.
* Assist in maintaining and extending an online presence through Instagram and Facebook.
* Co-lead and develop Student Movement Leader training opportunities and events.
* Connect with local Christian organisations and churches to build financial and prayer support.
* Develop and expand opportunities to present seminars and chapel services.
* Support Manage and participate in the support given to Student Leaders, including communicating with leaders, visiting groups, coaching leaders, referring resources, and facilitating networking opportunities.
* Assist in the production and distribution of regular email newsletters.
* Assist with pastoral care, mentoring, training, and support of Student Movement Leaders.
* Partner with local churches to provide prayer and support to Student Movement Lunchtime Groups, including encouraging commissioning of new Student Leaders.
* Assist in planning, organising and leading Mustard TAS events, including a Wellspring youth training program.
KEY SELECTION CRITERIA
* Passion for following Jesus and seeing the growth of His Kingdom, especially in schools
* Alignment to the ministry vision, mission and strategy of the Mustard Student Movement
* Mature understanding of the Bible and Christian faith (theological training an advantage)
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills with youth and adults
* Leadership experience (ideally with training and mentoring skills)
* Public speaking ability to both adult and teenager audiences
* An understanding of the context of religion in Tasmanian schools and the current issues facing young people
* Self-motivated, organised and a team player Desired Skills
* Event management experience
OTHER INFORMATION
The successful applicant will require:
* Current Working with Children Check
* Ability to work flexible hours, including Friday nights and weekends
* Driver’s license with own means of transport
* First Aid qualifications are desired.
* The applicant must sign Mustard’s Code of Conduct.
* Training on the role will be provided.
