Position Information
Gledswood Hills High School is the new high school supporting the communities of Gregory Hills and Gledswood Hills with a current enrolment of 88 students, drawing students from the local feeder schools, Gregory Hills Public School and Gledswood Hills Public School. The school is located in the South Western Sydney growth corridor which has seen exponential growth of residential housing over the past ten years.
The school opened on a pop-up site at the commencement of Term 1, **** for Year 7 students only. This site is located on the grounds of Gregory Hills Public School. In ****, the school will cater for Year 7 and 8 students on the pop-up site. The new school build is expected to be open in Term 1, ****.
This role is for the position of the inaugural Visual Arts teacher appointed to the school. The successful applicant will be responsible for developing and implementing the CAPA curriculum, including Stage 4 Visual Arts. The successful applicant will have a teaching load in the approved curriculum areas, in support of the school's integrated curriculum model, and in supporting the needs of a new and establishing school.
Specific Selection Criteria
Approval to teach Visual Arts and Photography and Digital Media.
Capacity to meet the differentiated learning needs of a diverse range of students in a new and developing school.
Demonstrated ability to use effective classroom management skills to create a classroom environment that is engaging and supports all students in their learning.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to work with teachers across KLAs on innovative learning and assessment.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
