Description:
As a Disability Support Worker at Bamara, you will play a vital role in providing support to individuals under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) in Moree. This casual position within the Community Services department requires compassion, empathy, and a commitment to enhancing the lives of those with disabilities.

Responsibilities:

- Providing direct support and assistance to individuals with disabilities according to their individualised NDIS plans.
- Assisting clients with daily activities while promoting independence and community participation.
- Supporting clients in developing life skills, including personal care, household tasks, and social interactions.
- Implementing strategies to address challenging behaviours and promote positive outcomes for clients.
- Maintaining accurate documentation and reporting on client progress and any incidents or concerns.
- Engaging with clients in a respectful and person-centred manner to understand their needs and preferences.
- Delivering high-quality support services that align with the goals outlined in each client's NDIS plan.
- Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, including healthcare professionals, families, and other service providers to ensure holistic care for clients.
- Adhering to all relevant policies, procedures, and legislative requirements related to disability support services. Skills and Experiences:
Desired Skills and Experience

- Previous experience in providing support and care for individuals with disabilities (highly regarded).
- Knowledge of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and its processes (highly regarded)
- Ability to communicate effectively with people with disabilities, their families, and support networks
- Demonstrated understanding of person-centred approaches to disability support
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with clients
- Capability to assist with daily living activities and personal care tasks
- Understanding of safeguarding and promoting the rights of people with disabilities
- Availability and willingness to work varying shifts including weekends, evenings, overnights, mornings and normal business hours.
- Staff must be super reliable and willing to turn up to all shifts
- Certification in First Aid
- Valid driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle (preferred)
- NDIS workers clearance
- Working with Children's clearance
- Police check
