Our client is a specialist fire protection contractor delivering innovative and compliant fire safety solutions across commercial, industrial, healthcare, infrastructure and high-rise projects throughout Australia.
As the business continues to grow, they are seeking an experienced Fire Services Designer to join the team. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong and motivated professional to take ownership of the design and documentation of fire protection systems while working alongside a highly experienced project delivery team.
You will play a key role in the successful delivery of projects from design through to installation, ensuring compliance, quality and commercial outcomes are achieved across a diverse range of fire protection systems.
Responsibilities
* Reporting to the Design Manager, responsible for the design, coordination and documentation of fire protection projects including: Fire Sprinklers, Hydrants, Hose Reels, Portable Fire Extinguishers, Fire Detection Systems, Occupant Warning & EWIS Systems
* Working closely with project managers, installers, builders, consultants and clients.
* Producing detailed drawings using AutoCAD and Revit.
* Preparing hydraulic calculations using Hyena.
* Developing installation drawings and fabrication documentation.
* Reviewing project specifications, authority requirements and fire engineering reports.
* Attending design and coordination meetings with clients, consultants and project stakeholders.
* Providing technical advice and support to clients and stakeholders.
* Assisting with value engineering initiatives and cost-effective design solutions.
* Mentoring cadets and junior design staff.
Qualifications
We would love to talk to candidates with previous experience in roles such as Fire Services Designer, Senior Fire Services Designer, Fire Services Engineer with either a Contracting or Consulting background. Strong knowledge of relevant Australian Standards, NCC and fire industry regulations is a must. Candidates should also have experience using AutoCAD and Revit. FPAS accreditation would be favourable.
Salary & Benefits
Salary for this role is circa $130-170K plus super depending on experience. There are opportunities to progress and grow within the business for those that want it.
