(Level B) $114,917 to $135,932 per annum plus an employer contribution of 17% superannuation applies.

About the role:

An opportunity for a Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF) funded Senior Imaging Engineer to participate in cross-disciplinary activities within The School of Mechanical and Electronic Engineering (EME). The role involves experimental design and operation of advanced laboratory and technical equipment to enhance research outcomes. The MRFF is a grant supporting Australian health and medical research from the Australian Government, with the University securing a share of this funding. The role may involve collaboration with leading institutions including the University of Sydney, University of Stuttgart, Royal Adelaide Hospital, SAHMRI, and Health Translation SA.

The Biomedical Engineering team is renowned for expertise in bio-sensing and cardiovascular analysis. The discipline is highly cross-disciplinary, touching on data science, machine learning, advanced computational design, and wearable technologies.

To be successful, you will need:

* Completion of a PhD in electrical, software, optical, biomedical engineering, or physics, or equivalent research experience.
* Strong ability in at least three of the following areas: photonics, optics, electronics, biomedical engineering, opto-mechanical systems, software engineering, and image processing.
* Experience in experimental design and operation of advanced laboratory and technical equipment.
* Ability to work effectively as part of a cross-disciplinary team.
* An understanding of research in a commercial setting and knowledge of clinical trial processes.
* Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion, with the ability to contribute to the diversity of the School of EME community.

Desired characteristics:

Track record of scholarly publications in prestigious journals, measured by Q1 journals, impact factors, and citations.
