Full Time Carpenter
SALARY $76,000 - $80,000 + SUPERANNUATION
SUMMARY
The primary purpose of the Carpenter role is to deliver exceptional craftsmanship in the installation, repair, and customization of luxury timber flooring solutions. Working in a high-end environment, the Carpenter is responsible for executing precise carpentry tasks—from interpreting technical drawings to finishing bespoke timber details—while ensuring every installation meets our rigorous quality and aesthetic standards. They bring design visions to life in both residential and commercial projects, reinforcing Kustom Timber's reputation for excellence.
DUTIES
Installation & Fabrication
•Accurately measure, cut, and install premium timber flooring in accordance with blueprints and design specifications.
•Custom fabricate timber components and finishes to meet unique project demands.
•Ensure secure and flawless installations that reflect the luxurious standards of the brand.
Site Preparation & Quality Assurance
•Prepare and assess job sites by reviewing existing conditions and ensuring all materials and equipment are ready for optimal use.
•Conduct comprehensive inspections during and after installations to guarantee a high-quality finish with minimal rework.
•Uphold strict adherence to safety standards and site protocols throughout the project lifecycle.
Collaboration & Communication
•Work closely with project managers, interior designers, and construction teams to align installation techniques with project requirements.
•Provide expert recommendations on timber selection, finishing treatments, and installation methods to enhance design outcomes.
•Maintain clear communication regarding progress, potential challenges, and necessary adjustments to project plans.
Maintenance & Post-Installation Support
•Perform routine maintenance and repair work to preserve the longevity and appearance of luxury timber flooring installations.
•Address client enquiries, providing advice and support to ensure continued satisfaction and care of the installed products.
REQUIRED SKILLS
Professional Certifications and Training:
•Hold a formal Carpentry Certification (e.g., Certificate III in Carpentry or equivalent) obtained through an accredited institution.
•Maintain up-to-date safety training certifications and be knowledgeable about local building codes and regulatory standards.
•Additional training in advanced joinery, finishing techniques, or bespoke timber fabrication is highly desirable.
Industry Experience & Carpentry Expertise:
•Possess a minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience in precision carpentry, ideally within high-end or bespoke timber installation projects.
•Demonstrated history of delivering premium-quality work with a focus on fine craftsmanship for luxury timber flooring.
Technical Acumen:
•Proficient in interpreting technical blueprints, design specifications, and complex technical drawings.
•Strong problem-solving skills to adapt to on-site design changes and to develop custom solutions that adhere to luxury standards.
Tool and Machinery Proficiency:
•Skilled in the use of specialized carpentry tools and modern installation equipment, including cutting machines, planers, joinery tools, and finishing instruments.
•Comfortable leveraging modern technologies and techniques to enhance installation precision and efficiency.
Physical and Manual Dexterity:
•Possess the physical stamina and manual dexterity required to manage demanding on-site tasks and precise installation work.
Communication and Interpersonal Skills:
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with project managers, interior designers, architects, and clients.
•Proven ability to clearly convey technical details, provide progress updates, and articulate constructive solutions during project execution.
Optional but Advantageous Credentials:
•Membership with recognised industry bodies or trade associations.
•A valid driver's license to facilitate travel between various project sites as needed.
