Calvary Riverina Drug and Alcohol Centre:
Situated on site adjacent to the main Calvary Riverina hospital, the Riverina Drug and Alcohol Centre provides comprehensive drug and alcohol programs and treatment services reducing drug related harm for individuals, families and communities.
The service identifies and treats clients with complex health and social needs while supportive effective mental health interventions.
About The Role
The Social Worker position is a full time role providing high level assessment, care coordination and therapeutic support in the Residential Rehabilitation setting. This program is a strengths based, person centred program that is 12 weeks long followed by a 3 months transitional support phase.
Your main duties will include:
Delivering evidence based psychological and psychosocial AOD treatments in a residential settings;Delivering an evidence based rehabilitation programProviding one-to-one support and interventions, relapse prevention and ongoing assistance to improve psychosocial and family functioning;
About You
Qualifications in social science field and have experience working with individuals with drug and alcohol issuesDeliver person-centred, strengths-based AOD support using evidence-based approaches.Innovative engagement strategies and strong collaborative relationships with the health and community sector will be vital.Demonstrated ability to apply harm minimisation practices in the treatment of people with AOD issues.Ability to provide evidence-based brief interventions for people who misuse alcohol and other drugs and for family members impacted by someone else's use.Ability to provide evidence-based clinical practice for people with complex needs and/or dual diagnosis.A good understanding of community resources, treatment services and referral networks would be held in high regard
