Levant Gold Coast Day Hospital is seeking an experienced and reliable CSSD Technician to join our team on a maternity leave cover contract. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a supportive, professional day surgery environment specialising in high-quality patient care.
About the Role
As a CSSD Technician, you will be responsible for the reprocessing of surgical instruments and equipment in accordance with AS/NZS standards and hospital policies, ensuring patient safety and infection control at all times.
Key Responsibilities
* Decontamination, inspection, assembly, sterilisation, and storage of surgical instruments
* Operation and monitoring of sterilisation equipment
* Accurate documentation and traceability of instrument processing
* Adherence to infection control, WHS, and accreditation standards
* Working collaboratively with theatre and clinical staff
About You
* Certificate III or IV in Sterilisation Services (or equivalent)
* Previous CSSD experience (day hospital or acute setting preferred)
* Strong knowledge of AS/NZS 4187 standards
* High attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety
* Reliable, organised, and able to work well within a team

Porter accountabilities:
* Transporting patients, baggage, linen delivery and equipment throughout the Day Surgery
* Assisting clinical staff in the movement and turning of patients throughout Day Surgery
* Requesting consumable orders as needed
* Collection of dirty linen when required
* Waste handling
* General cleaning throughout the clinic
* Delivering clean linen to room and monitoring inventory
* Maintaining high levels of customer service and ensuring communication is of a high standard
* Helping out with other tasks not listed as requested by management and colleagues
* General clinic maintenance and upkeep
