About the Role:
As a Stone Estimator, you will be responsible for the accurate preparation of quotes and tenders for stone projects.
This includes interpreting architectural plans, communicating with builders, designers, and internal teams, and ensuring material use and costing are optimized.
You will join a supportive, fast-paced team with the prospect to grow your role as the business continues to expand.
Working Hours: 8am – 5pm (Monday-Thursday)
8am-4pm (Friday)
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret architectural drawings and site measurements to complete material take-offs.
- Prepare accurate cost estimates for natural and engineered stone projects.
- Liaise with builders, architects, interior designers, and retail clients.
- Source pricing from suppliers for stone and accessories.
- Collaborate with drafting, fabrication, and installation teams to ensure feasibility and project alignment.
- Provide quotes within expected turnaround times (typically hours).
- Review past project performance to inform cost benchmarks and pricing structures.
- Attend tender or site meetings as required.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Experience in estimating (stone, joinery, shopfitting, or related trades).
- Solid knowledge of natural and engineered stone types and fabrication processes.
- Ability to read and interpret technical plans, architectural drawings, and specifications.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in measurements and calculations.
- Confident communicator who can liaise with clients and contractors.
- Strong problem-solving, organisational, and time-management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general estimating software (experience with stone quoting software desirable).
