As we continue to grow, we're looking for a dedicated and organised Investor / Capital Raising Manager to join our high-performing team.
The Investor / Capital Raising Manager is responsible for building, managing and growing relationships with wholesale and sophisticated investors for a first mortgage private credit fund. The role is focused on capital raising, investor engagement and relationship management, with the objective of attracting new investment into the fund and retaining existing investors through regular communication, trust and high quality service.
This is a front end relationship role suited to a commercially minded professional who can explain investment opportunities clearly and credibly. The ideal candidate may come from private banking, wealth management, legal practice, conveyancing, real estate, commercial banking or a relationship driven financial services background.
Key responsibilities
Investor origination and capital raising
Identify, approach and convert new investors into the fund
Build a pipeline of prospective wholesale and sophisticated investors
Attend meetings, networking events and industry functions to generate new opportunities
Present the fund's strategy, structure, security position and return profile in a clear and professional manner
Assist investors through the onboarding process from initial meeting through to investment completion
Relationship management
Maintain strong relationships with existing investors and act as their key point of contact
Conduct regular investor meetings, calls and follow ups
Provide timely updates on fund performance, investment opportunities and portfolio activity
Ensure investors receive a high level of service and responsiveness
Build long term trust based relationships that support repeat investment and referrals
Fundraising strategy and market engagement
Work with senior management to develop and implement capital raising initiatives
Contribute to investor communication strategies, presentations and marketing collateral
Identify referral opportunities through accountants, financial advisers, lawyers, family offices and other professional networks
Monitor market feedback and investor sentiment and provide insights to management
Investor communication and support
Prepare or assist with investor presentations, meeting notes, information memoranda and other investor materials
Respond to investor queries regarding fund structure, security, returns, process and investment options
Coordinate internal stakeholders to ensure smooth investor onboarding and ongoing servicing
Maintain accurate CRM records, investor pipelines and reporting
Compliance and process management
Ensure all investor dealings are conducted in line with regulatory and internal compliance requirements
Assist with collection and review of onboarding documentation, AML and KYC requirements
Work closely with compliance, operations and management teams to ensure accurate and compliant investor communication
The ideal candidate will likely have experience in one or more of the following
Private banking
Wealth management
Commercial or business banking
Legal practice, particularly property, commercial or private client
Conveyancing or property transactions
Funds management or capital raising
This role may suit an ex private banker, lawyer or conveyancer who is confident in dealing directly with affluent clients and understands how to build trust in a professional setting.
Skills and attributes
Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
Confident presenting to high net worth and sophisticated investors
Commercially astute with a strong understanding of financial products and investment structures
Professional, polished and credible in front of clients
Able to explain first mortgage private fund products in simple and persuasive terms
Self motivated and proactive with strong business development capability
High attention to detail and strong follow through
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Comfortable working in a fast moving, entrepreneurial environment
Preferred experience
Experience raising capital or managing client relationships in financial services
Exposure to private credit, mortgage funds, property backed lending or investment products
Understanding of wholesale and sophisticated investor requirements
Existing network of investors, advisers or referral partners is highly regarded
