Stage 6 Chemistry Teacher + Curriculum Leadership Opportunity – Christian Education
Full Time | Charlton Christian College – Fassifern, NSW
Charlton Christian College is seeking a committed and enthusiastic Secondary Science Teacher to join our Senior School teaching team. The successful candidate will be passionate about teaching Stage 6 Chemistry and Christian education and have ability to teach other Science subjects across Years 7-12.
Charlton is an independent K–12 co-educational Christian school situated on 12 hectares of bushland on the western side of Lake Macquarie. We are a Christ-centred community that values Love, Integrity, Faith and Empowerment and are committed to helping every student grow in character and capability.

About the Role

- Full-time permanent position
- Commencement: Term 1, 2026 or by negotiation
- Teaching Stage 6 Chemistry and Science across Stages 4–6

The Successful Applicant Will Demonstrate

1. A personal relationship with Jesus Christ, regular attendance in a local Christian church, and willingness to uphold and support the College’s Statement of Faith in all aspects of the role
2. Knowledge of, and strong commitment to, child safety in an educational setting, including awareness of mandatory reporting obligations and safe practices when working with children and families
3. A current Working with Children Check (NSW)
4. NESA-recognised teaching qualifications and accreditation (or provisional registration)
5. Proven ability to align qualified practice with the AITSL Teacher Standards
6. Capacity to integrate a Christian perspective into curriculum and classroom practice
7. Evidence of the following behavioural competencies:
8. Working with People – Builds positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues; shows empathy and contributes to a supportive team environment
9. Adhering to Principles and Values – Demonstrates integrity and upholds the Christian ethos of the College
10. Planning and Organising – Plans effectively, meets deadlines, manages classroom responsibilities, monitors progress against deadlines and communicates progress with stakeholders
11. Presenting and Communicating Information – Communicates clearly with students, parents and colleagues
12. Adapting and Responding to Change – Adjusts positively to changing circumstances and student needs

Commencement

The role will commence on 20 January 2026.

Salary & Conditions

The salary range for this role is approximately $90,000 to $131,000, depending on training and experience.

A Position of Responsibility Allowance of $21,778pa will be applied if the role includes a curriculum leadership component. The role is remunerated under the Christian Schools Teaching Staff Multi-Enterprise Agreement.
