Job Summary
We are a premier, fast-growing Melbourne-based skip bin company. As we continue to scale our operations, we are seeking an experienced, driven, and strategic General Manager to lead and optimize our Melbourne Head Office and local operations. This is a pivotal leadership role responsible for managing our established team, driving operational excellence, and leading our next phase of business growth in the Victorian market.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee and manage the day‐to‐day operations of the Melbourne Head Office and main yard.
* Lead, mentor, and manage the existing local team (drivers, customer service, operations, and sales staff).
* Develop and implement business strategies to expand market share across Greater Melbourne.
* Maintain and strengthen relationships with key clients, major contractors, and industry suppliers.
* Optimize fleet utilization, scheduling, logistics, and overall operational efficiency.
* Ensure strict compliance with VIC EPA regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
* Monitor overall financial performance, including revenue targets, cost control, and profitability.
About You
* Minimum 2+ years' experience in the skip bin or waste management industry (essential).
* Deep understanding of the Melbourne waste industry landscape and local regulations.
* Proven track record in team leadership and managing a diverse workforce.
* Strong business acumen with a proactive, hands‐on leadership style.
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem‐solving skills.
* Mandarin speaking is highly regarded.
