The Opportunity
Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) Services team are seeking experienced Aviation Maintenance (145 / MRO) Professionals to support technical roles within the Wedgetail In Service Support team. The team maintains the Wedgetail fleet to meet the evolving scope of Defence operations. The program is based at the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) base Amberley, QLD.
Your Day
As an Aircraft Aerospace Worker supporting the Wedgetail Maintenance team, you will work alongside licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineers to perform daily maintenance and modification activities, including:
1. Aircraft induction and teardown for maintenance/modification
2. Assist in aircraft inspections, standard servicing, and rectifications
3. Manage ground support equipment such as hydraulic rigs, cabin air-conditioning rigs, and towing tractors
4. Utilize technical instructions, data, and aircraft maintenance documentation
5. Assist in aircraft testing post-maintenance/modifications
6. Support aircraft rebuild and delivery to the Australian Defence Force
7. Report to the Maintenance Operations Manager
8. Collaborate within a team environment
Employment Levels
Aircraft Workers (AW) in this role will be at the AW2 or AW3 level, depending on experience, qualifications, and task authorization requirements.
Essential Experience / Qualifications
* Australian Citizenship
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Ability to obtain an Australian Negative Vet 1 Defence security clearance
* Certificate IV in Aeroskills (Mechanical), theory only completed
* Certificate II in Aircraft Line Maintenance
Desirable Experience / Qualifications
* Previous experience in an aerospace environment
* Valid open driver’s license
