Our Agriculture, Ecology and Natural Sciences team is dedicated to informing decision-making and driving outcomes for government, industry, and communities. We are seeking a consultant to join our team and contribute to our broad portfolio of projects involving the development, implementation and review of agricultural and natural resource management policy, programs and strategy.
* You will provide clear written technical input and advice across a range of policy and program initiatives relating to agricultural industries, rural and regional development, and natural resource management.
* Gather information and data, and conduct research activities including scanning and evaluating multiple internal and external data sources, accessing relevant industry data from state and federal government agencies and key industry sources.
* Conduct technical analyses to inform strategic land use planning, agricultural impact, cost-benefit, socio-economic, and financial assessments.
* Work with our team's Technical Directors to deliver high quality outputs for clients in line with our project management and quality assurance frameworks.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and engage with stakeholders across government, industry, and community sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Senior Consultant, your key responsibilities will include:
* Developing and implementing agricultural and natural resource management policies, programs and strategies.
* Providing technical expertise and advice on policy and program initiatives.
* Leading research activities to inform decision-making and drive outcomes.
* Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality outputs.
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* A degree in Agriculture, Science, Economics, or a related discipline.
* 3-10 years of experience in consulting, natural resource management, or agricultural policy.
* Broad understanding of agricultural and rural industries in Australia.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Exceptional time management skills and the ability to provide assistance to concise and accurate advice/reports.
* Strong initiative with the ability to work independently and as a constructive team member, including providing support and direction to junior team members.
