We are seeking a skilled Project Engineer to join a major telecommunications program within the Public Transport Authority's (PTA) railway network. This position will play a key role in the deployment, integration, and quality assurance of advanced radio systems infrastructure supporting critical transport communications.
You will work closely with rollout, design, and site delivery teams to ensure technical excellence, safety, and compliance in every aspect of implementation. This is an exciting opportunity for an engineer with telecommunications or electrical experience to contribute to a high-profile, safety-critical rail project.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Implementation & Site Delivery
* Execute installation, configuration, and integration of LTE/4G radio sites, backhaul transmission, and related power and infrastructure systems.
* Ensure all works comply with approved designs, technical standards, and quality documentation.
* Provide on-site technical support to subcontractors and resolve implementation issues.
* Oversee installation quality, testing, and commissioning, ensuring "First Time Right" delivery.
* Maintain accurate daily progress, risk, and quality updates in project systems.
Material & Logistics Coordination
* Track and manage Bill of Materials (BoM) and equipment for assigned sites.
* Manage returns, replacements, and material validation processes.
* Liaise with logistics teams to ensure timely material delivery and accurate documentation.
Quality Assurance & Testing
* Support site inspections, testing, and commissioning activities (PV, SAT, SPT).
* Verify installation quality, record defects, and follow up for closure.
* Maintain compliance with technical standards and environmental management plans.
Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance
* Work in strict accordance with HSE and PTA safety standards.
* Promote safe work practices and environmental responsibility.
* Report incidents and enforce compliance with life-saving rules and project procedures.
Documentation & Reporting
* Maintain detailed records of site activities, deviations, and quality findings.
* Support the preparation of work packs, safety documentation, and as-built records.
* Participate in progress and compliance meetings with key stakeholders.
Skills & Experience
* Qualification in Telecommunications, Electrical, Civil Engineering, or related field
* 3–5 years' experience in telecommunications site delivery, integration, or field engineering.
* Experience with LTE/4G RAN systems and transmission networks.
* Familiarity with rail or other safety-critical infrastructure projects.
* Strong understanding of RF principles, electrical safety, and installation standards.
* Excellent organisational and communication skills, with attention to detail.
* RIW (Rail Industry Worker) Card or eligibility to obtain.
