The Role
Our Ridge Street site services many customers in a contract manufacturing capacity focused on packaged, natural and processed cheeses. These include the renowned Bega cheese blocks- mild, tasty, and vintage, shredded and cubed cheese, natural slices, parmesan, colby, mozzarella and burger slice cheeses and an exciting new Lactose and Dairy Free range.

We’re seeking a proactive and reliable Maintenance Fitter to help keep our production equipment running at peak performance. This is a hands-on role where your expertise will directly impact safety, quality, and efficiency.
Please note: This role operates on a permanent weekend roster with the following hours:
* Friday, Saturday & Sunday: 6:00 am – 4:00 pm
* Monday: 6:00 am – 2:00 pm
Responsibilities
* Carrying out preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and safety
* Responding to breakdowns quickly and effectively to minimise downtime.
* Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and reliability programs
* Supporting new equipment installations and providing technical input during commissioning
* Maintaining high standards of safe work practices and compliance
About you
* Cert III in Mechanical Engineering – Fitting & Turning (welding and fabrication experience highly valued)
* Experience in Food Manufacturing or FMCG environments is preferred
* Additional tickets, such as Confined Space, Boiler Ticket, and Working at Heights, are a bonus
* Comfortable using MEX or similar CMMS systems, with solid communication and teamwork skills
* A positive, can-do attitude, reliability, and a strong team spirit
