Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Senior Subcontract Specialist to join our Sourcing and Supplier Management team.
The successful applicant will be responsible for ensuring effective market engagement and subcontract management on vital Defence programs.

Key Responsibilities
1. Draft, negotiate and manage a broad range of commercial agreements including NDAs, development, manufacturing and support services contracts and contract variations;
2. Provide advice to project managers and other business stakeholders on all subcontracting activities related to your program of work;
3. Liaise with Legal, Functional, Engineering and Commercial stakeholders;
4. Develop procurement strategies and priorities and lead their delivery through strong stakeholder relationships and understanding program requirements;
5. Conduct complex approach to market activities (RFx), analyse and evaluate supplier proposals, negotiate supplier deviations to subcontract provisions and recommend final supplier selection;
6. Monitor and report subcontract cost, schedule and status and recommend or implement corrective action as necessary;
7. Ensure supplier activities are compliant with applicable regulatory trade control (export-import) requirements;

About You
To be considered for the role you will have:
* A minimum 5-8 years' experience in supplier management and/or sourcing with exposure to procurement contract terms and conditions;
* Strong commercial acumen and understanding of contract law;
* Demonstrated leadership and stakeholder management to drive outcomes;
* Demonstrated experience in the Defence industry is desirable;
* Tertiary Education in Commerce, Law or Business or relevant experience;
* High level competency in written and oral communication and standard business tools and systems;
* An enthusiasm for working with suppliers and identifying new opportunities and relationships;
* The ability to work with cross functional teams;
* The ability to work autonomously to see projects and opportunities through to completion;
