The Opportunity
Due to an internal move, we're looking for a Business Operations & Sales Manager to lead our Trade Timber and Hardware operation in Townsville which has recently rebranded as a Mitre 10 Trade Store.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you will take full ownership of the Kings Rd branch - driving sales, leading your team, and ensuring the operation runs efficiently and profitably.
In this roll you will be getting involved and running the Mitre 10 Trade Store to further success
What You'll Be Responsible For
* Leading, coaching, and developing a large, multidisciplinary team
* Driving sales growth across trade, builder, and retail customers
* Building strong relationships with local builders, tradies, and suppliers
* Overseeing day-to-day operations, stock management, and branch performance
* Managing financial outcomes including budgets, margins, and cost control
* Implementing strategies to grow the business and exceed targets
* Creating and maintaining a strong safety-first and high-performance culture
What We're Looking For
* Proven experience in a leadership role within timber and hardware trade, or a related industry
* Strong commercial acumen with a track record of driving sales and profitability
* A hands-on, visible leader who can motivate and inspire teams
* Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
* Strong understanding of operations, inventory, and business performance
* Commitment to safety, compliance, and workplace culture
* Experience in supplier engagement or negotiations (highly regarded)
Ideally, You'll Bring
* Experience in the building, timber, or trade sector
* Previous experience as a Store Manager or Assistant Manager (3+ years)
* A passion for customer service and delivering practical solutions
