Overview

An opportunity exists for a highly motivated and experienced Business Manager to join our leadership team. As Business Manager, you will work as a key member of the College leadership team, providing strategic advice and leading the delivery of high-quality corporate services that enable teaching and learning to thrive. This role offers the opportunity to inspire and develop a diverse support workforce, strengthen service capability across the Weipa and Mapoon Campuses, and drive innovative improvements to business processes that enhance efficiency, accountability and outcomes for the whole College community.

About The Western Cape College The Western Cape College is a unique state school with two campuses located in Mapoon (P-6) and Weipa (P-12), as well as a secondary boarding facility in Weipa. Each Campus is set in its own cultural, social and geographical environment on the Cape York Peninsula in Far North Queensland. As the largest P-12 school in the Cape, we have an important role in leading innovative practices with Indigenous and Remote Education. The Role As the Business Manager, you will manage corporate services, support educational management activities, and lead systemic change. You will be supported by a collaborative College Services team across the Weipa and Mapoon Campuses, working with administration, finance, HR, facilities and operational support staff to provide leadership, coordination and strategic direction in delivering corporate services and supporting the school's daily operations and long-term success. Reporting to the College Business Manager, your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

* Provide strategic advice and leadership to strengthen the delivery of corporate and administrative services across the College
* Lead and manage human resources for school support staff, overseeing payroll, recruitment, induction, workforce planning and performance
* Manage, monitor and deliver financial processes, including preparation and reviewing of budget plans, provision of financial management advice, overseeing financial activities (including uniform shop and tuckshop operations) and ensuring compliance with departmental policies
* Oversee school facilities, assets and minor works to support safe and effective learning environments
* Build strong relationships with staff, students and the community while driving continuous improvement and service excellence
* Build networks with other Business Managers and stakeholders to ensure best practice in corporate service delivery
