St Leonard's College is seeking an experienced Camp Ibis Cook to support our long‐standing Outdoor and Experiential Education program at Camp Ibis, located on the beautiful Banksia Peninsula in Gippsland.

With over 40 years of tradition, Camp Ibis provides immersive outdoor education experiences for students.

This is a casual position, aligned with the College's camp schedule. Camps are more frequent during Term 1 and Term 2 and vary in length. The role plays a vital part in ensuring camp programs are well catered for staff and students.

Typical duties include approximately 8 hours in the week prior to camp for menu planning, preparation and food ordering. During camp, casual shifts are generally 12:00pm – 8:00pm, covering dinner service and preparation for following day meals.

Dinner service involves preparing and serving meals for 30–70 students and staff in a fully equipped commercial kitchen, while collaborating closely with the Camp Ibis Caretaker and Outdoor Education team.

Qualifications

* Experience cooking for large groups and/or working in a commercial kitchen environment
* Demonstrated knowledge of food safety standards and safe kitchen management
* Experience catering for dietary, allergy and anaphylaxis requirements
* A Food Safety Supervisor qualification (or willingness to obtain)
* First Aid and Anaphylaxis certification (or willingness to obtain)
* The ability to work independently, while contributing positively to a small team
* Strong communication skills and a warm, professional manner
* A current Victorian Working with Children Check

In line with the requirements under Ministerial Order 1359, mandatory training relating to Child Safety must be completed upon commencement with the College.
