**About the role**
As the Asset Protection Risk Manager, you will report directly to the General Manager Asset Protection & Operational Resilience and be responsible for managing and overseeing the risk and compliance requirements for The Star Sydney's Asset Protection Department. You will play a key role in our remediation and transformation, balancing obligations, advising senior leaders and driving ongoing evaluation of systems and processes to ensure best practice.
Your knowledge of the regulatory framework, coupled with practical understanding of our security operations, will enable you to investigate and respond to service queries and concerns with diplomacy and tact as well as ensuring internal investigations, public liability matters and liquor licensing issues, are managed appropriately.
A demonstrated ability to develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders will be highly regarded, as you will be the principal contact within the business for all regulatory and statutory bodies as well as liaising with emergency service providers.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Consult with Star Feedback, Security Operations Managers, Security Training Manager and utilise training to reduce complaint levels
- Oversee evidentiary matters involving investigations and the standard of evidentiary material provided to statutory authorities
- Oversee risk management incidents, EBI issues and or serious regulatory breaches
- Ensure the Asset Protection Department is compliant with legislative and regulatory obligations and implement remedial processes as required or where legislative obligations or policies change
- Manage and oversee public liability investigations and claims handling in consultation with the Legal Department and independent insurance advisors
- Assist and provide records and information to the Legal Department in connection with any show cause notices, subpoenas and other litigated matters
- Represent the Asset Protection Department by attending scheduled RSA Committee meetings, Breach Assessment Committee meetings, Neighbourhood Security Precinct Committee meetings and Darling Harbour Liquor Accord meetings
- Act as the primary Asset Protection contact for The Star's corporate support functions including (but not limited to) Legal, Risk, Controls, Compliance, Safety, IT, Regulatory and Internal Audit to provide active business partnership.
- Act as the Emergency Planning Committee ("EPC") Coordinator in providing administrative support to the EPC Chair, coordination resolution of EPC meeting actions and preparing meeting material
- Act as the Principal business contact for the provision of contracted Medic services to The Star including proactive contractor performance management
**About you**
- Considerable experience in security operations and management, preferably within the Casino or Security industry
- Understanding of laws as they relate to our organisation, in particular, Casino Control Act and regulations, NSW Liquor Act, Security Industry Act and Crimes Act
- Demonstrated experience in project management
- Current NSW Security Industry Licence
- Current Senior First Aid Certificate
- Advanced Conflict Resolution and Incident Management qualification, desirable
- Responsible Service of Alcohol and Responsible Gambling Accreditation
- Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment, desirable
- Relevant technical qualifications in fire safety
- Well-developed written and communication skills, as required to advise and influence key stakeholders through discussions, reports and presentations
