Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Safety Coordinator to provide operational assistance and advisory service to all team members, management of health, well-being and safety, and the prevention of workplace accidents and injuries.
Main Responsibilities
* Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and regulations, including monitoring training compliance and reviewing compliance activities.
* Investigations: Conduct investigations into unsafe working conditions, leading root cause analysis and development of recommendations.
* Risk Management: Identify hazards and risks to health, well-being and safety, and support or drive actions to reduce risks.
* Engineering and Reliability: Plan and implement continuous improvement methodologies and approve capital expenditure for safety-related projects.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will need to be proactive and results-oriented with a strong focus on safety. You will have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and be able to engage effectively with stakeholders.
Requirements
* Recognised industry qualification such as Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety or Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety.
* Experience in managing occupational health and safety systems in a manufacturing environment (desirable).
* Participation in safety, health and environment initiatives.
* Thorough knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety legislation and ability to interpret acts and regulations, understanding of common law.
* Internal Auditor certification (desirable).
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
