About the Role
We are seeking an experienced
Process Engineer
to deliver capital projects across food, beverage, and packaging manufacturing sites, including breweries, dairy, and protein processing facilities.
This role is
hands-on and site-based
, working across multiple clients and projects. You will be responsible for the
full lifecycle
of process-related capital works — from early design and scoping through to installation, commissioning, and close-out.
You will work with experienced process engineers and will be supported by an experienced project team.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop process designs, layouts, P&IDs, and functional descriptions to meet client requirements
* Scope, specify, and integrate process equipment, piping, valves, pumps, instrumentation, and automation
* Support and review CIP systems, fluid transfer systems, and hygienic process design
* Manage suppliers and contractors through procurement, installation, and commissioning
* Possibly Lead on-site works including:
* Mechanical and process installations
* Contractor coordination and supervision
* Site safety and permit requirements
* Commission and start up new or modified process systems
* Resolve design, installation, and commissioning issues efficiently
* Manage assigned capital budgets, variations, and defects
* Build strong working relationships with clients, operators, contractors, and vendors
Skills & Experience
We are looking for someone who can demonstrate:
* Strong process engineering design capability within FMCG manufacturing
* Solid understanding of liquid handling systems, including:
* Valves, pumps, pipework, and hygienic design principles
* CIP systems and process automation interfaces
* Practical experience translating design into installation and operation
* Confidence working on-site and managing contractors
* Ability to develop and interpret P&IDs, layouts, and functional descriptions
* Strong communication skills and stakeholder engagement
* A delivery mindset — able to own problems and close them out
Minimum Requirements
* Tertiary qualification in Process, Chemical, Mechanical, or Mechatronic Engineering
* 5–7+ years professional engineering experience in:
* Process engineering
* Capital projects
* FMCG manufacturing environments
* Proven experience with project and contractor management
* Strong exposure to site-based project delivery
