The Role:
The position aims to contribute as a positive and hardworking member of the Parks & Landscape team, ensuring the effective and efficient maintenance of Council parks and landscapes to required standards. Key duties include general park maintenance such as grass cutting, turf care, weed control, irrigation maintenance, tree planting and pruning, track upkeep, and other seasonal landscape tasks. The role requires the safe and efficient operation of relevant plant and equipment, adherence to Council policies and procedures, accurate record keeping, and teamwork through collaboration and following direction.
Key Responsibility
* Perform general parks and landscape maintenance duties, including but not limited to: grass cutting, weed eradication, tree pruning, branch collection, tree planting, tree watering, turf maintenance, irrigation maintenance, litter removal, and track maintenance.
* Driving of a medium truck or Ute/vehicle associated with the tasks required.
* Duties are carried out to the required service standards and in accordance with safe work practices
* Assist other Service Units or Departments as required utilizing plant, equipment and staff as necessary.
* Encourage and support industrious, harmonious and team-oriented work groups.
Skill & Competencies:
* Current Driver's License
* Competency in parks and landscape maintenance related tasks and equipment
* Certificate 3 in Horticulture (or equivalent) is a mandatory requirement of the level 2 pay scale $77,832 - $79,440
