Position Overview
The
Inspection Officer - Assets
is responsible for ensuring Council's infrastructure records and condition data related to road, drainage, building, transport, and open space & reserves are current, up-to-date, accurate and accessible to all Council staff. This role works interchangeably with the Inspection Officer - Maintenance and Inspection Officer - Customer Relations.
Key Responsibilities
Capture and record infrastructure asset condition and field data accurately in Council's corporate systems, supporting planning and decision-making.
Conduct scheduled and ad-hoc inspections, audits and investigations (including CRM enquiries), providing reports, recommendations and timely assistance to the public.
Ensure asset inspections and maintenance follow relevant legislation, asset management plans and agreed service standards.
Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of inspections, defects and completed works within Council's Maintenance Management System using both field and desktop tools.
Qualifications and Experience
This position requires a Certificate III in Civil Construction / Horticulture with sound knowledge and skills in civil engineering construction, combined with demonstrated knowledge of reading and interpreting maps, civil designs and engineering plans. A Class C driver's licence, excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills are also required. Experience in data management software, handheld GPS equipment for asset collection or similar equipment is favourable.
Employment Details
This position is offered on a permanent, full-time basis working 35 hours per week.
Remuneration
The remuneration package for this position is based on Grade 10 of Council's Salary System Protocol, equating to a base salary of
$82,646 – $92,967
per annum plus superannuation. This position also attracts the benefit of commuter use of a fit-for-purpose vehicle.
