About the role
AVCRO is seeking an experienced Training Instructor / Course Developer to support the delivery and ongoing development of technical training within our Part 147 Training Organisation.
This role plays a critical part in ensuring AVCRO maintains the highest standards of technical training, compliance and instructional quality. You will be responsible for delivering approved type rating courses, developing and maintaining course content, and presenting both classroom based and in person training sessions across multiple locations.
You will work closely with Responsible Manager Part 147 to ensure training material remains current, compliant and aligned with operational requirements. This role offers the opportunity to directly influence the capability, safety and professionalism of engineers with a wide variety of experience and backgrounds.
Travel will be required to deliver face to face training sessions and courses.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver approved Part 147 technical training, including ERJ190 and DHC-8 (100/200/300) type rating courses
• Develop, review and maintain training course content, including modules, lesson plans and assessments
• Ensure all training material complies with CASA Part 147 requirements and AVCRO standards
• Deliver engaging, professional and effective classroom-based and practical instruction
• Assess student performance and maintain accurate training and assessment records
• Support audits and regulatory reviews relating to training and competency
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of AVCRO’s training framework and instructional methodology
• Travel as required to deliver in-person training sessions across AVCRO sites
Experience / Qualifications
Essential:
• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE)
• Completion of the type rating courses you will be required to teach (ERJ190 and DHC-8 100/200/300)
• Fluent English communication skills (written and verbal)
• Strong understanding of aviation safety, compliance and regulatory environments
• Ability to present confidently to technical and operational audiences
Highly Desirable:
• Experience working in the aviation sector on narrow body and/or wide body jet aircraft
• Previous experience delivering Part 147 training
• Experience developing technical course content, training modules and assessments
• Background as a LAME or senior AME
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Location & Travel
• Role may be based in Melbourne, Sydney or Brisbane (Melbourne preferred)
• Regular travel will be required to deliver training in person across AVCRO locations
