The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Operations Coordinator to join our team in Bunbury at our lube oil refinery. As the Operations Coordinator, you will be a key member of the leadership team in implementing business growth & strategies. You will be responsible for production input and output while managing operational staff to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality outcomes.

This position is Monday to Friday 6:30am to 4:00pm and additional hours to be worked when required.

This position is not a FIFO role and offers a great work & home life balance.

Key Responsibilities

* Adhere to and enforce all applicable company HR, safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures.
* Work alongside with the HSE department to report incidents, hazards and to assist with providing recommendations for corrections or improvements (using MYOSH).
* Liaise, plan & engage with all relevant internal departments regarding the short term and long term operational requirements to maintain efficient operations. This includes but is not limited to: Logistics; Maintenance; Fabrication; Reliability & Change Management; HSE, HR & Training; Engineering disciplines; Hydrocarbon waste Process and projects.
* To lead & maintain effective communications with all shift personnel to ensure all operational requirements and production targets are met on a daily and weekly planned basis.
* Ensure that a high standard of quality control is maintained in production outputs along with Work pack completion on all works performed.
* Provide infield assistance with troubleshooting and technical problem solving with the assistance of supporting departments when required, e.g. electrical, mechanical and Operations Specialist.
* Work with trade support and Engineering departments in planned plant shutdowns and ensure transparent communication with all involved stakeholders, including contractors.
* Safeguard all systems to maintain a safe system of work by enforcing Permit to work, Lock-out Tag-out, Golden Rules and Safety Practices.
* Proactively engage in all aspects of operations, including truck loading, tank management & operational production levels to work actively with Logistics/Exports.
* Responsible for enforcing a high standard of housekeeping by conducting inspections and audits, environmental compliance by monitoring stack emissions and spill management.
* Ensure the continuous focus on training and development of personnel to align with operational structure levels. This includes assisting Level 1 lead operators with training plan development.
* Pre-assess trained operators to ensure competency is achieved during sign offs.
* Communicate with the Operations Manager and Human resources regarding personnel requirements, performance management issues, disciplinary meetings, and staff reviews.
* Assist Level 1 lead operators in developing their team to promote growth and development within the team.
* Participate in new project development during detailed engineering procedure development, commissioning and start-up.
* All other tasks as communicated from the Operations Manager or Managing Director.
