About the role
B.A. ROAD SERVICES PTY LTD is seeking experienced Traffic Controllers to join our team on a casual basis in Ballarat, VIC. As a Traffic Controller, you will be responsible for managing the safe movement of vehicles and pedestrians through temporary work sites or road closures. This is an essential role that ensures the safety of the public and our workers.
What you'll be doing
* Controlling the flow of traffic through work sites using stop/slow signs, traffic lights, and other traffic management equipment
* Implementing and maintaining traffic management plans as directed
* Identifying and responding to changing traffic conditions and safety hazards
* Communicating effectively with the public, site supervisors, and other workers
* Maintaining a professional and courteous demeanour at all times
* Ensuring compliance with all relevant safety regulations and procedures
What we're looking for
* Previous experience as a Traffic Controller, preferably in a construction or roadworks environment
* Minimum of 1 year of traffic control experience is required
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team
* Commitment to safety and a strong safety-first mindset
* Possession of a current Traffic Management Implementation card (or willingness to obtain one)
* Current Traffic Management Implementation card must be held before commencing employment
* Candidates with any valid work status will be considered
