About Moth Design
Moth is a design, fabrication, and production studio based in the inner north of Melbourne. We specialise in interiors, temporary and experiential design - covering hospitality, retail, exhibition & event, brand activations and creative direction. We work holistically, often from concept through to build & production, including sustainable design practices and material reuse and modular design.
The Role
As a Senior Producer, you will lead the planning, delivery and execution of high-impact events, activations, exhibitions, and experiential projects. Working closely with directors, design, production, fabrication and client teams, you will ensure that projects are delivered to the highest standard, on time, on budget, and in alignment with Moth's values and creative vision.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage full-lifecycle event / experiential projects: from briefing through to bump-in / bump-out and post-event wrap-up.
* Interpret client briefs and collaborate with design & creative teams to shape creative solutions that are practical, inspired, and within budget.
* Develop, maintain and monitor production schedules, budgets, staffing plans, resource allocation.
* Liaise with venues, suppliers, contractors, and other stakeholders: negotiate, contract, coordinate.
* Ensure all logistical elements are managed (décor, catering, entertainment, transport, equipment hire, promo materials, etc.).
* Oversee operations during event build & breakdown; ensure venues are left in excellent condition.
* Ensure legal / insurance / health & safety compliance across all projects.
* Mentor and manage junior producers / contractors; lead internal communications and planning.
* Participate in business development: pitch support, estimating, project scoping, etc.
* Maintain high standards of quality, consistency, and attention to detail throughout all deliverables.
* Contribute to sustainable practices: material reuse, modular design, waste reduction consistent with Moth's ethos.
About You
* Minimum 5-7 years' experience in event production / experiential / activation projects, ideally in agencies or design/production studios.
* Proven track record managing large, complex productions from concept to delivery.
* Excellent organisational, planning, time-management skills; ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously.
* Strong financial acumen: budget creation, forecasting, reconciliation.
* Exceptional communicator (written & verbal); able to deal confidently with clients, suppliers, venues.
* Problem-solver: able to anticipate issues, think on your feet, adapt to change.
* Comfortable working hands-on when required (e.g. build, install, site-supervision).
* Availability for occasional weekends or extended hours as required for event days, bump in/out.
* Skilled in relevant software/tools: Google Drive / collaborative documents, shared schedules, project management tools; some experience with Xero or similar financial tools; familiarity with creative tools (Adobe Creative Suite) a plus.
* Excellent attention to detail; commitment to high quality output.
* Location: you must be based in Melbourne.
