Role scope

The Instrument Commissioning and Start Up Technician is responsible to deliver a high quality, consistent and competent service in accordance with project / company requirements, standards and procedures to support overall delivery of company goals and schedule. This role will be under general supervision to perform a variety of commissioning, troubleshooting and repair of various equipment.

Your Day to Day Responsibilities

* Ensure compliance with the site cardinal safety rules and with all safety aspects in the execution of work
* Ensure procedures and permits are followed safely
* Commissioning, troubleshooting and repair of MCCs, pressure transmitters, level transmitters, flow transmitters, temperature transmitters, fire and gas equipment, control valves, on / off valves and solenoids and control monitoring equipment end to end
* Inspect, test, adjust and commission equipment to satisfy appropriate governing standards
* Work within OEM guidelines
* Demonstrate high-quality fault-finding skills and the ability to troubleshoot autonomously
* Observe and supervise Vendor staff working on or near the facilities as required
* Carry out Cause and Effect Testing
* Carry out calibration of equipment as required
* Carry out loop testing of equipment from control system to field device
* Attend system walkdowns
* Complete rectification works as required
* Close out Punch items

About You

Our ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a similar role, along with a Cert III in Instrumentation Craft and proven expertise. They will hold an EEHA Certification, possess a current First Aid Certificate and LV Rescue, and ideally have nationally accredited training in Working at Heights. A current Full or Restricted Queensland Electrical Licence is also required.
