About the business and the role
Vickers Road Community Childcare Centre is a community based, not-for-profit Childcare Centre in Condon. The centre has been operating for over 30 years, our operating hours are 7am-6pm, Monday to Friday. We close for one week over the Christmas/New year period each year. Our centre currently pays above award pay rates for educators.
Our centre is seeking a passionate, outgoing and enthusiastic educator to join our team, ideally you will meet the requirements below:
* Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
* Hold a Certificate III or higher qualification or willing to commence study (or have previous experience).
* Experience contributing to with weekly curriculum planning and observations or willing to learn on the job
* A cleared Working with Children Check.
* Commitment to role modelling our values of: Respect, Integrity, Optimism, Trust and Teamwork.
The position is a permanent part-time position (37.5 hours per week). As an Educator you will be required to contribute to our centre and team of educators, building strong trusting relationships with children and families, implement EYLF (paid non contact time is provided each week), our centre has a strong belief on play based learning being the focus of our curriculum. Our centre offers above award hourly pay rates, generous professional development opportunities, paid non contact time each week, and discounted childcare fees for all employees, as well as two paid educator wellbeing days.

Job tasks and responsibilities
To work alongside Director and other educators within the service, assisting them in the daily running of the service whilst always adhering to the regulations and the policies, goals and philosophy of the service.
In relation to Children you will be required to:
* Respect and provide support and inclusion for all children, regardless of gender, cultural background or socio-economic status.
* Act as a positive role model.
* Provide adequate supervision for the children.
* Be a passionate Educator and strive to achieve Centre goals and ensure our Centre philosophy is reflected in daily practice.
Skills and experience
* Previous Experience contributing to room observations and experience in our sector is preferred
* An understanding of the EYLF and NQF
* Ability to work with a team of like minded educators
* Able to contribute to centre discussions, Critical Reflection and QIP through meetings etc
