VP Business Development – APAC Commercial Team

Location: Australia – Sydney area preferred (Melbourne considered)

Responsibilities

* Drive business development across Australia and New Zealand through a planned and proactive approach, leveraging strategic marketing technologies and tactics to prospect for new strategic accounts and grow our client base.
* Collaborate with the global partnerships team to execute local partnerships and generate leads through their customer base and thought‑leadership case studies.
* Leverage sales materials to support leads and transition new logo wins into the ‘expand‑client account team’ for future growth.
* Work closely with the SVP of APAC to scale and win new business by fostering a ‘one APAC team’ mentality.
* Create thought‑leadership assets to build System1 and partner visibility in Australia/New Zealand, including working with the global marketing team on media partnerships and hosting industry events.
* Develop local lower‑funnel assets from global research and sales material, identifying any additional data or research needed.
* Drive expansion of the opportunity deal pipeline in CRM/HubSpot and convert inbound and outbound leads.
* Run workshops and insight sessions, supporting pitches with internal resources.


Qualifications & Experience

* Accomplished, self‑motivated, highly experienced business‑development professional exceeding ambitious sales quotas.
* Enterprise/agency seller with ability to map customer needs to research/data solutions.
* Results‑oriented with a bias toward action and a make it happen mindset.
* Excellent relationship builder who establishes trust quickly.
* High performer who achieves outcomes and embraces ownership and results‑based rewards.
* Driven and well‑organised; able to manage multiple tasks and follow up on leads and proposals.
* Challenger mindset—success in environments that value standing out.
* Resourceful, using available data, research and insights to create local market value.
* Determined and strategic, committed to long‑term partnership and social activity.
* Exceptional team player, collaborative with global colleagues in central business functions.
* 5+ years’ experience in business development specific to marketing/advertising/innovation with exposure to strategy, planning, research and communications, scaling and closing deals.
* Proven ability to convert deals within a reporting month and grow revenues across varying sales cycles.
* Strong understanding of data and research role in the marketing/advertising ecosystem.
* Track record of pitching and winning new business proposals and growing a brand or business.
* Collaboration across functions to drive results.
* Knowledge of creative development process and audience insights.
* Experience presenting or pitching directly to marketers and/or agencies.
