Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Chemical Laboratory Assistant to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will work alongside research scientists and engineers to assist with laboratory activities, including maintenance, upkeep, and ongoing experiments.
The laboratory is equipped with state-of-the-art instrumentation and infrastructure, which we utilize for various projects. As a Chemical Laboratory Assistant, your primary responsibilities will include:
* Maintaining gas supply systems and organizing routine maintenance of safety equipment.
* Implementing existing methods and performing instrument calibration and maintenance as required.
* Managing chemical inventory and disposing of chemicals that are no longer needed.
* Providing support to research scientists and engineers in the laboratory, particularly in the development and testing of new technologies.
* Operating laboratory information systems and standardizing testing sample receipt, testing, and invoicing processes.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* Relevant Bachelor's degree in Science, majoring in Chemistry or equivalent relevant work experience.
* Experience working in laboratory environments and understanding laboratory safety protocols.
* Familiarity with analytical chemistry instrumentation, wet chemistry techniques, and a range of chemicals.
* Demonstrated strong interpersonal communication skills and a current unrestricted Australian driver's license.
