About the Role:
* This position is part of a team responsible for coordinating asset accounting. The successful candidate will report to the Manager Financial Accounting.
Key Responsibilities:
* Coordinating asset accounting for Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service
* Providing timely and quality information, expert financial compliance and accounting advice
* Reviewing and planning in relation to CQ Health fixed assets
* Developing and delivering strategic asset management plans
* Short- and long-term capital budget planning
* Comprehensive evaluations
* Coordinating monthly and annual asset processes and reporting
* Ensuring policies and procedures are up to date
* Adhering to policy and financial delegations
* Recognizing asset versus expense
* Preparing fixed asset movement schedule
* Reviewing stock movements
* Reporting write-offs and obsolete stock
Requirements:
* A degree in accounting or equivalent is highly desirable
* A Certified Practising Accountant (CPA) / Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification is highly recommended
* Whilst this position has a preferred location of Rockhampton, remote working arrangements may be negotiated for a suitable experienced candidate
