About the Role:
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Planning and Assessment Coordinator to join a key team within a State Government agency. This role is ideally suited to a professional with a background in urban planning or town planning, with a passion for how transport infrastructure shapes our communities. You will be responsible for assessing a variety of applications and referrals, providing thorough and accurate responses to planning inquiries, and utilising a wide range of systems to support your research and analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist in the assessment and review of planning applications and referrals from various stakeholders, including Local Governments, in accordance with relevant planning schemes and transport policies.
* Respond to general planning enquiries, applying principles of traffic and transport planning.
* Conduct thorough research using a wide selection of systems to inform detailed and accurate advice.
* Liaise and build effective relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, acting as a key point of contact on planning matters.
Essential:
* Proven research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
* Demonstrated ability to build and enhance effective stakeholder relationships.
* A strong understanding of traffic and transport planning policies and the systems used, particularly their application within urban or town planning contexts.
Desirable:
* Obtained (or working towards) a Diploma in Urban Planning, Engineering, or a relevant discipline.
* Prior work experience within the public sector.
