Role Description
MBN Services is seeking a full-time Site Supervisor for an on-site role based in Canberra. The Site Supervisor will oversee day-to-day operations at an Embassy, ensuring safety, quality, and compliance with all requirements. Responsibilities include coordinating and managing site staff across the main site and other sites within the ACT, conducting inspections, and maintaining communication with clients and team members. Site Supervisors are given full accountability for overseeing the operation and performance of their site and Security Officers, and are an important conduit of information to MBN Services Management.
* SSIA Level 4 Wages, Paid Training + Career Progression
* Standard 0800-1600hrs Monday to Friday Roster with some opportunity for overtime where available.
Must Haves
Current Security license
* Has a valid Security license in the State in which the role will be performed.
Dog Handler
* Preferably has a valid Security License in the State in which the role will be performed or is willing to obtain.
Current Driver's license
* Holds a current Driver's license in the State in which the role will be performed.
Basic computer literacy
* Can navigate, read and create documents in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel and navigate both PC and Mobile applications with ease.
Key Tasks
Supervise a team of Security Officers by:
* Clearly communicating expectations and checking understanding,
* Responding to employee needs in a timely manner,
* Finding development opportunities for team members with a desire to grow with MBN Security,
* Facilitating regular toolbox talks,
* Participating in the selection of new team members,
* Facilitating new starter's inductions,
* Conducting annual performance appraisals,
* Providing ongoing performance feedback (positive and constructive),
* Rewarding extraordinarily good performance and behavior,
* Managing underperforming team members,
* Monitoring the environment, and prioritizing health and safety,
* Fostering a positive site culture
Take ownership of the site operation and performance by:
* Ensuring contractual obligations are met all the time, and exceeded often,
* Identifying opportunities to enhance service delivery or profit,
* Maintaining effective processes, and improve processes where possible,
* Reducing costs
Work as a team member, role modeling professional security service delivery of the below tasks:
* Monitor and authorise entrance and departure of employees, customers, contractors, visitors, and other persons to guard against theft and maintain security of premises
* Patrol premises or designated area on foot to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure security of doors, windows and gates. Patrols will be both targeted (in response to a call for assistance) and random (to maintain a security presence)
* Circulate among visitors, patrons and employees to preserve good order and protect property
* Respond in an enthusiastic and helpful manner to questions asked; demonstrate a preparedness to advise and share basic information about security service matters, and the site and premises more generally
* Maintain diligent awareness of all onsite activity
* Inspect and adjust security systems, equipment and machinery to ensure correct operational use and to detect evidence of tampering
* Monitor and adjust controls that regulate building systems, i.e.: air conditioning, evacuation systems, if required
* Operate communication systems, i.e.: two-way radios, to keep others notified of your whereabouts, and remain abreast of current developments onsite
* Identify and raise with Management any opportunities to improve systems, processes and provide a more quality security service
* Answer alarms and investigate disturbances
* Attend to all reports of unauthorised access, antisocial behaviour, and / or damage to resolve the issue immediately or assess whether the issue warrants elevation, with further support required from authorities
* Call the police, fire department or other authorities in cases of emergency, such as fire or presence of unauthorised persons
* Prepare and submit accurate and timely reports of daily activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorised persons or unusual occurrences
* Warn persons of rule infractions or violations, and apprehend or evict violators from premises, only using force when necessary
* Actively promote a favorable image of the Company and its Clients all times whilst on duty, or whilst commuting to and from that duty in uniform
* Act in accordance with site specific Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Corporate Policies and Procedures and special instruction from Management, including SWMS, Inductions etc, and ensure that staff also adhere to these requirements
* Perform work in a safe and healthy manner, in accordance with the MBN Security Work Health and Safety System
* Carry out any other duties within the scope and level of this position, as directed by Management
